I have a 2006 Ford Freestyle. I just changed mine. You need to get a "brake caliper tool." Its available at Auto zone. You can buy it for $50 and keep it, or they let you bring it back. It's kind of like a rental, but it's FREE. **On the driver's side rear, you can turn it clock-wise and it goes in. HOWEVER, on the passenger side its tricky. You must turn it counter-clockwise to get the piston to push in. This tool is not made to go counter-clockwise. So you must turn it a bit, and then push it in by turning with your hand or wrench. Kind of hard to explain. But it took me a bit to figure this out. It's a huge pain in the ---! Be patient and research pages like this before you do your job. Good luck.

Try turning it in rather than pushing it in its usually the case on the rear or even turning at the same time as pushing it has to wind back in
