Characters & menus display incorrectly
Entires and results in the main screen show up with missing pixels, while the menu bar(s) at the bottom of the screen have additional pixels. i just noticed that the missing pixels blink when the cursor is in the far right column.
i originally thought this was a low battery issue, but new batteries didn't solve the problem.
thanks for any help!
My TI-85 after twelve years (!) will not light up its screen, even after replacing the proper lithium back-up battery and the proper fresh AA batteries. Could it be my metal contacts inside the battery chamber are a little rusty? Would that make that much of a difference as far as not functioning electrically?

My groundbreaking TI-81 developed the same symptoms when I purchased it in 1990 for $250.
I dropped mine, and a line was totally out and the pixels had jumped like yours.
I called TI, and they said the integrated circuitboard had to be replaced. Since everything resides on the main board, your only option is to send it to them for repair, or buy a new one.
They should be up to the TI-1000 by now!! LOL
If the screen is pressed od if the device is fall down some where this happens.
Use a paperclip (tiny hole on back of caculator) and reset.
