charger. When the unit is connected to shore power the system will recarge the battery pack fine. When they are charged the remote meter will switch from bulk charge to float charge. The problem is when we are dry docked and attemt to charge the batteries with the generator system, the charge rate stays on bulk charge mode constantly. I have had the generator checked out by a certified teck and all is good there. The only places in my area that service invertors is a marina and they want me to send them just the invertor.I would like to have it tested in the coach as there may be a problem in the coach as well. Can anybody give me some advise
Suggest you check all your terminal connections for corrosion. I just had exactly the same problem with a Xantrex inverter/charger, it appeared to be stuck in charge mode. I disconnected all terminals, cleaned them and in the process found two with corossion not visable before disconnection. Problem solved Don
More than likely you may a a relay that is stuck or not energizing which should switch the charging mode over automatically. Trace back from the generator to the charging circuit for the batteries. I'm not sure where the relay (or solinoid) would be located but you can be assured it is something in the charger sensing/switching circuit.
