Ok, couple of things to check. First take it to a local parts store or shop, and have them do a load test on your battery. It could be that it has gone bad. Next There are a couple of different wiring harnesses you want to check. Check your main battery wiring connection, there are a number of wires that have quick connects. If these get loose, you can run into the no charge problem. Next There is a wiring harness that goes down the passenger side of the firewall, in the V-8 this was a problem area because of the heat from teh headers would melt the wiring or the connector plugs Next There is a regulator in the PCM, there is a way to bypass and test this that is outlined in the service manual (sorry I don't have access to one) but you may want to contact a shop that has one, and ask them if you can look it over.
Pheewww ok, there's a few things to start with. I would be looking closely at the wiring. When I had my Dakota, I ran into a number of problems that ended up being related to wiring, more then anything else.
