Charging a 2005 Audi A8 battery
I am a re builder...I buy from INSURANCE co's.
I have purcchased a 2005....It came today...the battery is dead. I chaged it a little through the cig lighter to see if the radio etc works. I have took the postive cable off the battery because I understand you can damage the computer if U over charge. I will slow charge it over night.
Can U tell me how to by pass this silly NO BATTERY charge until I can get it repaired (body work and replacement of Ft. Aiurbags). Is there away arond it. I must tell U I have a mechanic that has most german and Europen car computer readers.
I have read that I can charge the battery and the car will start but some or most things will not work correctly. I have never heard of such stupid stuff...but each time I buy an Audi...I like the car...hate the company and the dealers. DO NOT ANSWER unless you know THIS car VERY well. I do not wish to GUESS and have to buy computers for this car.

The battery of the audi car needs to be completely charged.then only its functions will work properly.on low charge all the functions will not support.after charging check the voltages it should show proper 12 volt.if the voltage of running car is not maintaing its exact voltage then its the fault in the alternator.
Your car should charge the battery whenever it is running. Every car has an alternator that produces electricity whenever the car is running because a belt connects a pulley on the alternator to a pulley on the flywheel. If your car battery dies while you are driving down the road, the alternator may not be producing electricity to charge the battery. you get the battery properly charged and check out.all the function will work. This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya
