Have a close look at connections and element condition. most like element is damaged and is drawing too high a current. Best not to touch these things when cleaning but use soft bruch and vacuum.(unit unplugged ;O) Bad connections will also cause this.

Two years old, never had a problem. one day i cleaned it as i usually do and it stopped working
