Cleaning the filter
I have a Carrier central air gas furnace. Before turning on the heat this year, I need to clean the filter. The furnace has the type of filter that you clean instead of change. I can't remember how to get the filter out so I can hose it down. Can you tell me how to open the furnace and take out the filter?

The two doors are removable. remove top one that has all the small openings where you see the flames at. This is done be grabbing handle and lifting bottom part can be pulled towards you.than bottom one can be lifted up also. be carefull sometimes the edges are extremly sharp and can cut to the bone. (i know from experiance.) I belive a disposable filter is a much better way to go. only get the cheap spun polyester ones not the high filtration ones.
