Clicking sound and crumpled paper
I have a Xerox XD-100.
All of a sudden a "clicking" noise istarted recently after the machine is turned on and is warming up. This lasts about 10 seconds. The same noise is heard after pressing the "START" button. A paper jam symbol appears. Crumpled / accordioned paper is jammed beneath the fuser. Even after clearing the paper ----- the same noise and jam occur.
Result --- no copying possible.
What could be the problem?

Bad heat roll drive gear in the fuser. Very common problem.
Look up on google a business called "The Parts Drop". Ask for Britt, part is $13 or $14.
