Clothes getting caught in Kenmore dryer
I had a repair man look at my dryer who said the drum needed to be replaced. I thought it would only be the plastic ring that was attached to the drum that came off. He said that the gap would be too big even if that was replaced and I don't think that it would be cost efficient to do that given the cost of labour and drum I would look at buying a new dryer. Can you let me know if there is anything else that should have been looked at? I had some problems with this dryer in the first year with clothes that had strings attached getting caught which was fixed with putting felt in between the drum. The dryer now is only 5 years old.

The bearings under the drum may have failed, making the drum drop, so the gap is bigger. Replacing drum or bearings is a lot of work, cheaper to replace the dryer. Or you could make a plastic ring yourself that is thicker to fill the gap....
