Hello Simone, the interesting thing about the Coby MP705 is that the company decided not to reinvent the technology that already exist, but to use the Windows technology. The best way of creating a playlist is by first connecting your MP3 player to your computer. After the computer recognizes the mp3 player double click “my computer” after that double click on the icon that shows “Coby MP705” and if “internal storage” appears also double click that icon. You should now see a series of folders double click the music folder. All your music folders will now appear. Go on any music folder and right click it. You will see an option half way down that say “create playlist” by selecting this option you create that folder as a playlist. If you want to make a playlist with a compilation of assorted music you must first create a folder with all the music you would like in that playlist then follow the instructions on how to create a playlist hope this helps.

I located the folder that held all the music. I'm used to having an iPod, so this is all new to me, I thought it would just be an external drive. I believe I went to "My Computer," and saw a folder that said "Coby MP ..." I opened up the folder with all the music, and transferred all of the files to a new folder that I'd created on my desktop. I then went to "add to library" in Windows Media Player, and selected "search folder." I browsed, selected the folder from the desktop, and voila (I was not able to find the Coby folder directly from Windows Media Player). Most of the music copied over. And, somehow, all of the duplicates were gone. I don't know how that happened, though. I manually deleted some dupes, but others seemed to have "fixed" themselves.

Hey. try shutting off your mp3 player. Make sure it's off when you plug it into your usb port. Now you should have a folder/list in start up that says "devices and printers." Your mp3 player will be in there. Click it to open it, or sometimes a menus comes up and asks if you want to 'play' or 'view' files. But either way, you want to open to 'view' files. This will open a box that will have two lists, 1 one the left showing your computer files and the 2nd in the middle showing your mp3 player's files.

On the left hand side, there are folders that are labled 'downloads' and 'music.' I have music in both so, click one, open it. It will list all of your music files in the middle of the page.

Now locate your 'e' drive there on the left towards the bottom. Double click it, open it and it should list the different file names in your mp3 player i.e: 'Playlist.' Looking there at your music list on the right side, you should now be able to drag and drop all the music into that file.

You should also be able to delete music files this way as well. Just right click and scroll down and click delete.
