Cod5 for ps3 stopped working
All of a sudden my Cod5 stopped working. It has the little loading symbol in the corner and then the screen goes black. It makes a noise like a message has popped up but you cant see something. I brought the game to my friendshouse and it worked there. Could it possibly have something to do with downloading the map pack because I downloaded it just a few days before and my friend did not download the mappack on his ps3. Someone please help.

This is getting ridiculous! This site keeps deleting my reply! Delete the saved game data. Your progress online won't be lost. Let me know if it worked for you because it worked for me.
Had exactly the same problem ... play any other game but cod5.even bought a new disc..same loading problem as old disc.Had to go to settings and reset the hard drive.
Go system settings
then..restore ps3 system ..take note of the prompt on screen and deactivate (if you have bought maps ect..)
i thought i was going to lose all prestige levels,but did not, i reactivated
and original disc works fine.but havent bothered re installing map pack 2 as im sure thats what caused the problem in the first place.
I had same prob and made a new account and works on that one..about time sony sorted it out
I had the exact same problem. What I did was that I created a new account on my ps3 and it worked on that account.
