Coleman Powermate 2500 with a 5hp Tecumseh pops and sputters? Starts great plenty of juice just uneven when not under heavy loads?
I can randomly get it to run real smooth but it's rare and nothing I do is permanent. Stumped

Have you checked the carburetor? Also could need to be checked for a blown head gasket, old cracked fuel lines, depending on age points or magneto may need resetting. Lots of things to check.
