Coleman Powermate 5000 with 10 HP Tecumseh engine. It had a float problem and leaked gas out the air filter. I replaced the float and stopped the leak, but now it won't start. It will start if engine starter fluid is sprayed into the carb but just until it burns off. Gas is getting into the bowl. Attempted to clean carb and still no help. Any ideas?
I have a Coleman Powermate 5000 with 10 HP Tecumseh engine. It is very hard to get started. once started runs great . But when you shut it off and try to restart it it will not start. I have plenty of fire. I also replace the carb. I still have problems getting it started. I tried to start it with out the filter also. What can i try next?
Check the choke and try starting at different choke positionsStarting depends very much on choke position. Check the choke and try starting at different choke positions

May be the air is not enough, try to start it without filter. If it starts - clean or change the air filter. Blow the carb holes with compressed air.
Starting depends very much on choke position.
