Coleman stove (Coleman fuel only). Won't stay lit. I have taken pump tube apart, seems OK; soaked tank in denatured alcohol (to remove lacquer buildup). Lights OK but goes out -- can still hear fuel moving through generator
Try screwing the needle valve in all the way. Carbon builds up in the generator and if a piece got loose, it's clogging the small hole at the end. Turning the valve in all the way might free it.
If that doesn't work, you'll need to purchase a new generator tube.
Is it possible that the part that screws into the propane cylinder is not opening the bottle all the way. This would alow enough gas to flow through to light but will not keep a flame because there is just not enough fuel flow. If this is the case you most likely can't fix it and need a new one. How old is it, if you can return it for a new one, do that, just to be on the safe side.

Woops, should have read more carefully when you wrote Coleman fuel only.
