Combustion fumes I've had my ProCom heater for a few years with no problems. Now I'm getting strong combustion fumes that I didn't have before. The flame looks ok, nice color. Even the pilot has a strong combustion smell. I've checked everything and it appears ok. Help!
The professionals at Pro-Flame in Colton, California, told me it was probably the residue that builds up in the bottom of a propane tank over a number of years of use. They asked me when my tank was last tested and certified for safety. Since I couldn't remember, they suggested I bring it in for them to empty and certify next time I needed to refill. They did, charged me about $30, certified it as safe, and I haven't had that odor since.

I have the same problem but I am on Natural gas and it will go out sometimes.
