Compaq V5000 laptop
I am having trouble with my LCD screen. The top 1/4 works but the bottom
3/4 does not. If I pinch the far left side of the screen as tight as I can it frees up to use curser for the full screen. Otherwise,I can only use the top 1/4. Any idea on how to fix this??

It may either be connection of the LCD to the flex cable, (IF YOUR LUCKY), or the TAB welds on the board on top of the LCD are bad.
If you want to attempt this you will have to remove the screws on the plastic that houses the LCD and separate the bezel front and back. Screws hold the lcd to the back bezel. make sure the ground is attached and the cable is securely in place.
