Compressor spits out oil when unit is stopped
I have a ingersoll-rand 25hp rotary screw(ep-25) compressor.it spits out oil(ssr coolant) when i shut unit down.this is a packaged unit full voltage with modulation(480 volts,3ph,control volt-110)it uses ssr ultra coolant which is very expensive($500.oo) per 5 gal.i live in the bahamas where there is little to no tech-support including factory authorized distributor.i have changed scavenge orifice check valve as indicated by manual.i also changed all filters including coolant and air fiters.i ran out of coolant and had to use 30w non-detergent motor.did this cause problem?i have also noticed drop in air delivery capacity.i await your responce.i hope this info helps.thank you.

MIGHT CAN HELP. NOT AN I.R. EXPERT BUT KNOW A GOOD BIT ABOUT SCREW COMP. ARE YOU SHUTTING UNIT DOWN SUDDENLY WITH EMERGENCY STOP OR SOMETHING. SOME UNITS DO THIS MORE THAN OTHERS BECAUSE THE WAY THE VALVE CLOSES. BURPING OIL THROUGH THE INTAKE IS ALSO CAUSED BY SUDDEN STOP INSTEAD OF THE UNIT SLOWLY SHUTTING DOWN AND THE OIL IS RUNNING BACK SLOWLY. THE UNIT ACTUALLY TURNS BACKWARDS A LITTLE BIT. YOUR OIL SHOULD NOT COST THAT MUCH. YOU CAN CONTACT ME FOR PARTS AND PRICING ON THE OIL. YOU CAN SAVE ALOT OF MONEY WITH AFTERMARKET SERVICE PARTS AND OIL -THEYRE JUST AS GOOD AS OEM.I WOULDNT USE 30W OIL ! YOUR POOR AIR DELIVERY MAY BE AFFECTED BY WORN PARTS DUE TO LUBRICATION. HOW OLD IS UNIT? MODEL # ? CONTACT ME [email protected] FOR INFO & PRICING. ME AND 1 TECH WOULD PROBABLY COME DOWN AND FIX IT FOR YOU FOR AN ALL EXPENSE TRIP FOR FREE. WE ARE IN NC AND DONT GET OUT ENOUGH.
