compressor will not cycle properly
Replaced thermostat on unit(True TSSU 72-18) because old one would not cycle the compressor, thus freezing food . Now compressor cuts in at too low a temperature at the lowest (highest temp.) setting . By manually shutting off the thermostat and setting it back to the highest temp setting again, the compressor will remian off until about 38F then it restarts and begins the freezing process again . This unit does not have a tube in the evaporator to slide the temp probe into . The last few inches of the temp sensor probe are coiled about a half inch in diameter and inserted between the cooling fins of the evaporator . Is this correct ? Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated ! Thank you ,

Double check to see that you do have in fact, the correct thermostat. I have found a chart that shows that the differential is all over the board. There is a way to adjust these thermostats but is very time consuming and if you are not a refrigeration tech, you may struggle with the procedure.
