Computer keeps restarting
Hello,
I installed a new maxtor drive and replaced the 256, and 500MB memory with 2 1G Memory cards.
I believe i didnt enter everything correctly in the bios screen upon initial power up bc i doubled pressed esc accidentally during configuration. Upon 2nd power up after this the computer was frozen.. 3rd power up everything worked fine for hours however the computer froze. It has frozen 2x within the past 5 hours since then.
I called it to help, it appears that they didnt do anything but check the drives however now my computer keeps restarting every couple minutes. It does stay on however in safe mode.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Concerning the hd, it is possible to download a tool to verify its integrity. You can choose the version (bootable would be the best).

And for the memory stick, you could use the memtest86+ to verify if it is not the problem. I bought 2 memory sticks of 1 Gb each and there was one in problem. I had to test them individually, and found out the one was not good, after 8 hours of test.

Again, a bootable version is better.
