Vehicle Needs to be 2008 or later with Bluetooth. If you have a 2005 to 2007 or an aftermarket deck with a USB port you can always use your USB charging cable and plug it in. If your car has Apple play, you need to enable that on your iPhone in settings>General> car play. Be sure your car is in "pair mode" and that your iPhone Bluetooth is enabled. For android, turn on Bluetooth and enable "pair mode" on your vehicle. Go back to your phone and select Bluetooth and look for Devices with the vehicle manufacturer signal i.e. GMC1465. On your phone, tap on the signal and follow the instructions. Good luck
