Consew 206RB, threading problem?
I just bought a used machine. I had it set up by a professional sewing repair man. It worked perfectly. I sewed on it. Then I had to change the color thread, both upper and bobbin. Now, the upper thread will not get caught by the bobbin hook, therefore, not picking up the bobbin thread. I am pretty certain I have the upper threaded correctly as well as the bobbin case. I have followed every step of the manual and it just won't pick up the bobbin thread.

This machine has a safety clutch which is designed to protect the hook mechanism. To access it, place the machine on it's back. About 8-10 inches from the right side you will see an assembly on the main shaft. You need to hold this assembly with a push button located on the bed of the machine while you turn the handwheel. It will click in place when it is in the correct position. Once you've done this the machine should be back in time so it will sew.Hold the top thread ,turn the handwheel and draw the bottom thread up before you begin sewing. Place a piece of fabric under the foot , turn the wheel by hand to make sure there is no binding and that the thread is being picked up.
