Lots of time, the pilot light lites and heat up the pin (thermocouple),to tell the gas valve to open and send gas, or the oxygen sensor could be plugged up and needs blowing out ,,,,or the pilot tube could be plugging up and not letting enough gas from the pilot light to shoot past the thermocouple to sense a flame...(.See where i,m going with this?)
