Cooling fan won't come on 1998 plymouth voyager replaced the relay and tested the fans direct to battry, they worked wont come on when hooked up in van cause to overheat
Did you try the coolant fan temperature sensor mounted near the thernmostat housing, dont attempt to change this on a hot engine, let cool order the new part and install with the radiator cap on as opening the cap will cause a great amount of coolant loss. Please one more thing, the relay sensor you replaced was it located beside the Radiator on the Drive Side, behind the black plastic air filter housing, contained a 4 wire electrical connector and was bolted to the radiator support. If so this was the proper relay as there are many relays in these vehicles they control just about every electrical component in todays vehicles. Happy Motoring!!
We did replace the relay by the driver side and have checked to see if it has 12 volts and a good ground. We did not replace the first item but the other thing is that we are being told that the computer may need to be reset for the van, could that also be true and how would we do that? Thanks for your help.We did replace the relay by the driver side and have checked to see if it has 12 volts and a good ground. I found that the wire harness that runs by the throttle body was my problem. This harness is clothed covering and connects to throttle body bracket by a push in black pin, pulled out pin and used zip tie instead. I found this short by pulling on the wires and hearing relays kick in. To much pulling pressure on wires.
