Cpu doesnt recognize new drive
I recently got a Lite On Lite-On LH-20A1L-06 SuperAllwrite / 20x DVDR Burn / 16x DVDR Read / 8x (etc.) sata connection (S7 - S1 if that helps) and connected into the computer but the computer hasnt recognized the new hardware and produced no icons or anything to go by. Ive tried searching for new hardware on the computer but it keeps on coming up with the same result (no new hardware - are you sure its connected?). Im already using 1 disk drive at the moment with an AT attachment which has been working for a while (and still does even with the new drive). Both are set in slave connection as well. I have tried disconnecting the old drive to see if that was the problem but it wasnt. I have also tried installing everything that came with the disk on the computer and still nothing. Need help!!!

Ok i may be able to help, first of all i must ask if you plugged the cables in correctly and didnt forget the power connector.
secondly, have you been into the BIOS and checked weather or not the device shows up there? to access the BIOS (basic input output system) usually you have to repeatedly press the delete button or F1 button as as the PC boots up(before windows loading screen). If you see the device in the BIOS then you should unplug the drive and return it to it manufacturer. If it does show up in BIOS, also check to see weather the drive is compatible with your current version of windows, this also includes the service pack you have installed. if the device does not show up in BIOS then check the cables again, check for any phsyical damages and return to manufacturer. if this dosent help you im sorry, but theres not much you can do if hardware decides it dosent wanna play.
