CRE POS serial scanner doesn't scan
I have a PSC Magellan SL scanner/scale Model 382 and have used in the past with Comcash POS program BUT now I am trying to get it work with Cash Register Express. This Magellan scanner/scale has dual cables one for the scanner RS232 serial and the other for the scale. The scale works with CRE POS but I can't get the scale to read into CRE. Their tech support don't have a clue. The scanner scans into Hyperterminal but does not scan into notepad. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA HOW TO GET THIS SERIAL SCANNER TO SCAN INTO CRE POS. Please Help

Is the scale set to NCI or Weightronix mode? In our software, The General Store, we have scale options for both of these emulations.
We also have settings for baud rate, parity, etc. for each com port.
Se if CRE has similar options in their software's peripheral device setup.
If it is the scanner that is causing fits, see if they support serial barcode scanners. If not, then you need to use something like twedge.
You can try to use a software package called Twedge...I've used it to solve issues just like you have above with a scanner scale and a Y cable...
