Creda 48301 cooker. Lights and timer don't work
Creda 48301 cooker. Cooker works but all control panel and timer lights are out and timer does not operate.I need circuit diagram and advice on how to access control panel. Local service engineer says spare parts no longer available and will not attempt to rectify. I am retired electrical engineer and would like to fix it myself but would like to have some advice before starting the job.

You will not be able to obtain a wiring diagram for your oven as they are only available to their own engineers.
You have been correctly advised that it is an obsolete model, although there is a limited supply of spares available.
From what you say, I think that the timer itself could be faulty, and although it is many years since I saw this model, I think that there is a starter switch and lamp located on the top of the oven housing.
I will try and get more info for you, in the mean time, can you confirm if it is built in, or freestanding?
Thanks.
Thanks for the info.
To gain access to control panel, you will have to remove the oven from the housing completely.
Once you have done this, having first ensured that the power is off, you can access the control panel by removing the top cover of oven.
You should see the starter lamp and capacitor .
If memory serves , you should also be able to see the flourescent tube for the control knobs. also.
If you think the tiner is faulty, then it is possible to bypass it, trace the live feed in, and put a jumper wire between it and the live output on the timer.
If you can determine what part or parts are faulty, then I may be able to help.
Good luck.
Further to my comments on your creda oven, I have checked with the manufactures, and there is definately no parts available for your model.
To reiterate, if you can determine the problem, and let me know,I may be able to source parts elsewhere.
Cheers.
