I fixed the problem on my coffee maker fast and cheaply! I found that the stem that the grinder sits on had a small crack vertically in the hard plastic. That caused the diameter of the stem to swell just a bit larger and the grinder to bind to the stem. My solution was to remove some of the material in the area that was binding on the stem. Since the motor for the grinder turns at a high speed, I let it do the work. A file worked very well for the job. I by-passed the safety cut-off plunger, by pressing a rod into it, hit the on button, then carefully held the file to the area to be filed. I then used medium sandpaper to smooth everything If you try this, be sure to not take off too much material and only file in the affected area. Also we are by-passing the safety switch - so obviously use caution. I only did thiis a couple days ago but so far the ginder comes out very easily. Here are a couple picts.
Same problem and I'm the husband that always got it unstuck...... until this morning. I read somewhere that putting the whole machine in the freezer will work. I did and the grinder just lifted out without any pressure at all! My wife was laughing at me when I was looking on line for a solution but she just smiled when it was removed.......
Put the whole machine in your refrigerator freezer for 2 hours. The grinder basket should now come off. Take the whole unit to your shower and rinse it thoroughly in plain hot water. Dry it. Then look at the point where the basket joins the brewer. You should see a little spindle and a set of helical gears. You will see the same helical gears on the basket itself. Now, spread white lithium lube on the gears and the spindle. None of this is anywhere near the water flow so you won't get lube in your coffee. All of this should solve the problem of the stuck basket. jsdemott
I used a screwdriver as a wedge as well, and was able to pop it off. Then I oiled both parts that make it spin--the stem, and the hole the stem goes into--and was able to take it out.
I followed the advice given by someone on you site but I used a little mineral oil on the post about every third time I use it, works like a charm.I followed the advice given by someone on you site but I used a little mineral oil on the post about every third time I use it, works like a charm.

thanks so much! I was about to give up, but this worked!
Instead of the freezer, put ice in the grinder cup. It came out after about an hour
I have no solution I wish someone did.
