I recently bought a Samsung MX20 series camcorder which has a bundled version of CyberLink MediaShow 4 with it (version 4.0 rev 1.3 to be more exact).

Installing the software from the CD presents no problems, but when I try to run the software after installing it, it does not start. There are no error messages, it just won't start. I am on Windows XP Professional SP3 genuine (Swedish version). My computer is an ASUS A8JS with an Intel dual core processor.

I turned off my antivirus (Avira) and my firewall (Sunbelt Kerio) during the installation to eliminate interference.

My username for MediaShow is the same as my username for Windows. It only contains letters in the English language, no diacritics or foreign letters or symbols.

I have installed DirectX 9 from Microsoft's website, but it changed nothing. I have checked CyberLink's support website but could not find a solution there.
