Dacor oven light
The oven light goes on and off constantly. it makes the most annoying clicking noise and this happens randomly. sometimes for a hour or better. i have tried holding the light button in but that dosen't help. it starts up again. any suggestions before i call a repairman who wil probably charge me $200 or better? thanks, I so appreciate your sugestion.

Open the over door. Remove the four screws holding in the digital display. Pull it off (have something to stand it up on). Look for the small ribbon going between the printed circuit board (PCB) and the digital display you just removed. Pull the ribbon out from the connector on the PCB. On my model, ECS127SBK, push the three right pins down, and re-connect with just the two left pins. Other models, may be different, so you may have to test it out. Be sure to turn off the power at your breaker box while working on it. You won't have the use of the lightbulbs anymore, but you won't have the damn ticking either! (And you'll save yourself getting ripped off from a technician.) I'm not very skilled when it comes to this stuff, so if I can do it, you can too!
