Dacor Oven Thermostate problem
I have a Dacor Model# ER48DSCHNG range (I think, can't find the ser.# but this model looks identical to mine). The main oven will heat up to temp. but won't maintain the desired temp, leaving me to believe the temp. sensor is bad. I pulled it but cannot get the plug thru the hole inside the oven so I can just plug the new one in. Can I cut the wires on both & hard wire with wire connectors the old wires to the new sensor wires? This thing is big! And hard to move out? UPDATE: I moved it out today the new temp sensor came in, when I got to the back the old one was hard wired anyway, so I cut the plug & hard wired it back. I replaced the temp. sensor today, now it goes up 5 degs. each second until it reaches desired temp. (witch actually is much lower) then turns off the gas with desired temp reading staying the same on front panel until I turn it off, then back on, then it will show actual temp. (I verified with a thermometer) light up again, then as soon as the gas lights, it starts going up 5 degs. every second again until reaching wrong temp. again, it won't relight to maintain temp. until I turn it off, then this process starts all over again. Thanks for any help you could give!
