Daihatsu charade randomly stalling
My daihatsu charade 1987 was in good condition.since last week,it stops suddenly during my way to school and i suspect that there is a faulty part located at the back of the carburatter which is a small metal box which looks like a coil which has carbon in it.Generally, the engine stalls randomly and i have to wait for some times to start it and it will be running normal.please help.

If its the 3 cylinder I would say your points need changing/adjusting. Make sure you have grease on the lobes where the rubbing block makes contact or the rubbing block will wear rapidly and cause the gap to close. The gap between the flat and the rubbing block should be about the thickness of an hacksaw blade. The points thesleves should not have any spikey protrusions (caused by arcing).
The small metal box with vacuum hoses attached is the hot idle compensator. It's not electrical and the soot is probably just some oil that has powdered form coming in contact with petrol fumes.
