I would hazard a guess that the printer is connected via the serial interface..... If this is the case you either have a problem with you serial interface settings or the serial cable pin configuration does not match the printers serial interface pin configuration..
I would recommend printing a MENU print on the MT661 and check the serial interface settings these NEED TO MATCH THE HOST SYSTEM
To print a menu print.
Put the printer OFFLINE
Press MODE
Press the DOWN ARROW to HELP
Press ENTER
A menu print will be printed look for things like Protocol, Baud Rate, Data Bits, Stop Bits etc These need to be set to match the host computer system.
