Daughter says that car is not accelerating right in 5th. When she pushes down on gas petal, the RPMs rev and it doesn't accelerate. But if she eases down on gas, it will accelerate. Car has a manual transmistion and 186K miles. Could the clutch be sticking?

The clutch is slipping, eventually it will fail completely. The reason she notices it in 5th gear is because 5th or overdrive uses the transmission the most IE low rpms high speeds. Soon it will affect all gears. Sorry the only way to fix it ts to replace it.
I think they make a clutch kit for this model
