Delete operating system
I have 2 compaq presario's
1st one is a 5190 i have all setup disc for this one, and has windows 98, i have all codes needed to set up windows
2nd one is a 4505 and all i have is a restore disc, it think it has windows 95
i want to use the 5190 setup discs on the 4505
when i start up the 4505 it goes to windows screen and asks for the "oem" code which i do not have, I inserted the restore disc, it asks for the model number which i entered, then asks for the "oem" number
I inserted my restore disc(5190) and enter the numbers and of course they do not match the info for the 4505

Use the restore disk that came with the 4505 to restore it , then upgrade it to 98 with an upgrade disk. These can be found online still of ya search around or at a neighbors house *wink*
I believe the 5190 disks wil not work as they have the incorrect drivers for the other system.
