(( or you could use vinegar & baking soda to clean the battery CONTACTS of your old remote )).
Clean with isopropyl alcohol and allow to FULLY DRY over several days.. before replacing BATTERY.
GRAPHITE pencil lead can be used to further burnish the contact surfaces... but without ANTI-OXODENT compound... your RENEWAL process will likely not last long. Do search for a REPUTABLE seller to supply your REPLACEMENT (and closely watch over all your BATTERIES in the future)...!!
