Delta miter saw model 34-080. I now have to feed lumber very slow or the blade will stop while the motor continues at high RPM. Blade is sharp and nut holding it on is very tight. The unit can't have more than 10 hrs of use since I bought it new many years ago. Brushes are very good

I had the same experience after lending my Porter Cable sander to a neighbor. In my case, he ran the machine too hard and pretty much burned the motor up. What it sounds like to me in your case is that the motor is defective, and likely needs replaced or rewound.
