I have had the above scanner for some years but never tried to connect it to my Windows XP computer. Despite following the instructions and connecting the USB cable to my computer - the green light (power) comes on - there is nothing on the screen and pressing the various buttons, scan, copy, etc, nothing works. Is there some other part (eg a battery) that needs to be attached?
