Digitech Vocalist Live 4 blead through
I'm using a Rodes NT1-A mic, a Gibson SG electric guitar, with headphones and I can hear the gibson being picked up and going through tne harmonies when I turn them on. I thought it was internal at first but it looks like the mic is picking up the strings on the electric. It's not plugged in to anything but Vocalist Live 4. I'm going to experiment on moving the mic around. Any sugestions as to what type of mic would work? Sounds like a few others have had this problem too. Some say they are using an acoustic guitar! How do they not have that problem?

I'm having a similar problem with my Sterling audio ST-55 mic and a acoustic guitar. I regenerates the signal and sounds like it's under water. I turned down the mic input knob on the back of the unit until I got a clean sound. The only down downside to this is you have to practically eat the mic.
As for solution #1... Another mic choice will do the trick. But the other technique with putting a wall between your guitar and mic doesn't sound like it would work if you are sitting in front of your digital recorder with a mic in front of you and a guitar in you lap.
You need a directional microphone, and then it needs to be pointed away from the guitar. Another technique would be to provide some acoustic insulation between the mic and the guitar, like a wall or a partition like what is used to set up office cubicles.
