Ok ive got a directed 1100d amp when i turn my system on the amp powers up then clicks stays on but doesn't put out anything if you leave it on for a while it will start to reverberate through the sub like its trying to play but never goes any further can anyone give me an idea what is wrong or an idea how to fix it? I have a Directed 1100d i was using it to power 4 12" woofers in my home ht setup, ive used other amps with good results. it worked fine but did have a slight hum from the woofers so i turned the gain down it seemed to help. So i used it for a few hors and then heard a light thump from my woofers when i went to check it out the 1100 was in protect mode and was really hot. I decided nto disconect it and leave it cool down, the next day i tried it with a single 10" sub it was no longer in protect mode light was geen but all i got out of it was hum from the woofer but no music. The ht woofers are rated at about 4 ohms a pair I also opened it up and there was no signs of any blowen or discolored components. I then proceeded to check the output transistors with a digital meter they seem ok, the amp also has 4 what they call fast response diodes with 3 leggs the 2 outside leggs short out but im not sure if they are suppose to or not.the numbers on the diodes which actually look like transistors are 2ea YG225N2 and YG225C2 ive surched the web but havent come up with a way to properly test them any help would be great thanks.
