Did you just have a new garbage disposal installed? If so, then you (or the installer) probably forgot to knock out the plug in the drain port of the disposer. If not that, then the next most likely cause is something (like a piece of broken glass) getting stuck in the drain pump, preventing the blades from turning. You will have to drain the water out of the dishwasher manually (using either a siphon, or a wet-vac), and then removing the drain pump, and checking for foreign objects. You might also have something stuck in the drain hose, especially at any sharp bends. If you find nothing there, then you probably need to replace the drain pump.
