Do I have a stainless steel drum in my washing machine?
I have a Hotpoint Aquarius WMA44 washing machine which is about 5 years old. It works fine but there is an upleasant stale odour coming from the inside. I have purchased a Dr Beckmann Service-it Washine Machine Cleaner Kit. The kit says it can only be used on stainless steel drums. I think my drum is made of stainless steel but I'm not sure. None of the documentation tells me what the drum is made of. Can you tell me because I don't want to spoil my machine by using this product?

If the drum is unpainted and a magnet is able to stick to it, the drum is steel. If there it is shiny and uncoated, more than likely it is stainless. Checxk web site documentation
