Do all older ie 1994 portable dishwashers use a heating element to control the temperature of the wash water? Mine has a heat button the panel,and a large loop of heating cable in the bottom of the tub,which may be to dry the dishes,or heat the water,not sure which.Engaging the heat button doesn't seem to do anything,and I am wondering if it could be burnt out. The reason I ask is I had a new hot water tank installed,and I was told the thermostat was under a plate and was not meant to be frequently adjusted.With my old tank,I would jack up the thermostat to run the dishwasher,and return it to a lower setting after the dishes were done.The wash results with the new tank have been poor to say the least.
