It depends on how "old" you mean. There is no coaxial cable connection on the back of the dvd player to go straight into the tv that way so kindly disregard the previous solution. You will have to look at the back of the TV to see if it has any other inputs. Mainly, you will be looking for a set of two or three holes on the back of the tv. The holes will be yellow and white with possibly a red one also. Yellow is video, white is left audio cable, and red is right audio. You will plug the yellow wire into the yellow hole in the back of the tv and also the back of the dvd player- labeled as video out and audio out. Turn off both the TV and DVD player MAKE SURE you have the right color pegs in the right holes before you power everything up. :) Alternately, if your TV doesn't have the yellow and white holes, your VCR Definitely does! You can hookup to the VCR. Make sure you are plugging into the VIDEO IN on your VCR as there will be another set identical for VIDEO OUT that you won't use. Once the video cables are connected, you can hit the "input" or "source" button on your VCR remote until you see the picture from the DVD player. Hit source again and you are back to cable to record your shows :) Hope this helps and give a shout if ya need clarification on anything. .

Yes, you should be able to connect using a coaxial cable, connect the cable to the TV using the Coax (IN) input on the back of the TV.
