Hi. Have you tried running the recorder using AC adapter. This is a common issue with this recorder. Did you noticed that the batteries became hot when you plugged it in the device? If yes, then you need to have the unit checked with the manufacturer and have i repaired. Do not attempt to turn on the unit or put batteries to avoid further damage.
This is already a unit problem. You should be able to use the unit when using an adapter. Since it wont let you do that, then there might be something inside that is not functioning well. Might be one of the chips is failing. i suggest you take it to the store where your bought it. I hope it is still under warranty.This is already a unit problem.
