Doesn't want to search for drivers
Everything was working at my house, did a normal shut-down. Went to friend's house 10 minutes away. We are both techy, and we couldn't figure out why it doesn't want to search for drivers, and it can not be seen on the computer. We both had Vista, and the screen at the bottom was always saying driver installation: failed. search? yes. nothing. windows cannot find drivers anywhere, computer, or internet.

First, un-install the USB port in the control panel, then restart.
Then in the control panel under device manager, look for the USB drive ,make sure it's not exclamated out.
Normally this unit does not need drivers in Vista nor XP. I had a unit doing the same and it turned out to be the board in the enclosure. I returned it and the new one worked fine.
