I feel it would be cheaper to replace the fan cord than to the dog. As this is a DIY site, I would recommend that you repair the cord. Cut both the ends of the cord such that you have about a foot of the cord left with the wall plug and the fan socket. Procure a few meters of a double or triple cord depending what you have in your fan presently. Peel off the insulation on all eight or twelve ends of the wires and join them one by one to the wall plug and the fan socket to both the ends of the newly acquired cord. And insulate each joint with insulation tape individually and then collectively. So you have two joints on the cable if you look at it casually. What you need to procure is: 1. A cord double or triple core depending on the original one in the fan now. 2. A small roll of insulation roll. 3. A dog leash.
