Door glass shattered 3 hours after cooking
On our 22 month old Rangemaster Professional 110 gas cooker, we heard a loud shatter then the tinkling of glass as the pieces fell down inside the door. The oven had been used some 3 hours before. Any one know the reason for this, is it a manufacturer issue or just bad luck?
Thanks in anticipation.
Paul.

There are no holding screws on rangemaster oven door glasses, they are held on by clips, simple fact is that if you have a glass door it can shatter full stop, it can also seem like it has shattered for no reason whatsoever, they do that on any brand you care to mention, I can tell you though that Rangemaster acted on what they thought was too many doors shattering to make them better, its also worth noting that Rangemaster has a far lower threshold of faults than most other manufacturers, meaning that if there is a problem it doesnt usually last long, unlike some other brands....... and no, I am not a Rangemaster employee :-D
The problem is that the holding screws that secure the glass in place were most likely OVER TIGHTENED.All the screws around the support holders of the glass have to be tightened just right and the glass can cool off without the pressure that makes it pop.
