Downloading my contacts to my computer ?

my computer wont download my contacts to my computer..it keeps saying its reading my phone but then it keeps saying " reading phone contacts failed "...any ideas as to how i may solve this...?

Some of the software that motorola sends out is defective. but if u want i can send u new software through email and then u can install that. it should work it did for mine
