Draft inducer blower going bad
I have a Trane XE90 (1994) furnace. The power vent fan is making noise and I am in the process of changing it myself.
The FASCO blower unit is listed as 7062-3956 at 3450 rpm.
My repair man ordered the replacement unit. It's not the same. My unit has a electrical box attached on the side of the motor. The replacement P/N D342094P03 doesn't have that attachment and is listed at 3400 rpm.
His supplier said that is the replacement.
All I need is agree or disagree.
With the internet I can see the numbers and I cannot find anywhere that will support the replacement part.

The Fasco book says the correct replacement numbers are as follows:
"7062-3956 = D330757P035 = Fasco # A130" . If the one your installer has needs to be modified to fit, I'd find another installer!
I have similar problem with my Fasco equivalent #A145. I'm pretty sure
it is a bad motor bearing. Electrical box on the side of the motor
usually holds the small capacitor the motor needs to run properly. It
should not be a problem if the motor run capacitor is mounted on an
external bracket, as long as the rest of the replacement "draft
inducer" fits perfectly and moves the same amount of air!
I agree close enough. Only slightly slower. If it fits mechanically , useit.
The electricial boxs seem to be on a lot of the old motors that I have changed out. I am fairly sure that when you open it ,it will only be there as a junction or to change speeds on a multispeed motor.
