Here's some things to check: The electric water pump on those machines can be stopped by objects that get under the machine- The pump has a "fan" on it, and I have seen numerous times where a sheet of fabric softener like "BOUNCE" will get sucked into the pump's fan and "strangle" it. Follow these instructions: Starting with the machine OFF, take one finger and depress the water temperature adjustment button for DECREASE (arrow points DOWN) and hold it down, and while holding it down, turn the machine on by pressing the power button. If you did it right, you should hear two quick BEEPS. Now release the buttons. This sets the machine in "technician mode" Now press the REGULAR button (the cycle selector button for a REGULAR wash cycle) You should hear the water pump start and the water should be going out the drain hose. If you hear a slight "HUM" then the water pump is jammed with either an object inside the tub or the aforementioned sheet of bounce or whatever. If you hear the pump start but the water seems to be recirculating back into the tub, then something is either caught in the machine's DIVERTER VALVE or the valve is physically broken.
